Tip 10: Windows and Deadbolts
Often there are windows right next to your front door, and these windows are also near the lock (which we hope is a deadbolt). Thieves can easily smash the window and gain access to your home this way. To avoid this, you can install a proper deadbolt, such as a double cylinder block that needs a key if you wish to enter your home. Also – remove the key from a lock. Many forget this, and have their homes invaded. You should also look at other windows in your house and keep them closed at night, or risk a burglary.
